I've had a problem with the Low VM error and still haven't been able to solve it. I ended up here eventually via google and finally got a post with tips that actually made sense...that post ended with the mod saying Laptop batteries also cause this error. This is the first time I've had problems with this error and it's happening with my first laptop, which I have come to treasure.
Is this something I can still get ahead of or is it a classic case of putting 2 and 2 together? How often is a laptop battery the culprit?
Symptoms and History: Virtual Memory Minimum Too Low error, crashing programs within 10-15 minutes. No scanner or defragger proved useful. Processes with highest VM Size are firefox.exe, cmdagent.exe and SMScvHost.exe (Firefox, Comodo, and I don't know).
Potentially helpful: I had a major router/wireless card conflict recently and blindly followed whatever advice anybody would give me. I'm now without wireless capabilities, partly thanks to a driver download from Dell's site that was labeled a Rollback by my computer. I do carelessly leave it running with apps open, but scan daily (sometimes more) with light one-click registry fixers and optimizers.
OS: XP Home 32-bit
