Accounting Software for Mac

Just switching over from the dark side (Ordered I-mac 20" 1 gig single ram and 400 gig hdd). Need views on accounting software. Quickbooks for mac seems to have horrible reviews so I am looking at MYOB, does anyone have any advice?

I would be using it for a business that does some internet sales so would like it to tie in to any web based sales we may generate. are there any add-ons that can handle this?

Any help would be much appreciated, I am looking forward to my new virus free existence!

Your new computer will come with Quicken pre-installed. (also i-Movie HD, i-Tunes, iPhoto, iDVD, GarageBand, Appleworks, and others)

I use it to ballance my checkbook, so I'm not even scratching the surface of what it will do. Before getting out the long green, see if it works for you. It's free.

If the regular Quicken does not work for you, then MYOB is the next choice.
It is a very powerful piece of accounting software, I have a friend who has been running his medium sized business on it since it was released, that should do everything you need.
Their Tech Support is first class and appears to be based in the USA

Thanks for the replies. I have a lot of experience of using quicken in Win-doh, I am going to be running the accounts for my wife and I's Jewelery Coroporation. I want to set it up once and once only!

I think I will go for MYOB, unless anyone else has any other opinions?

The new machine arrives from Apple Later this week, long learning curve ahead and want to make it as easy as possible.

Stay away from quicken for mac, it is dreadful and the tech support is awful. I looked at iBank but it is just not well developed and even though the graphics are nice, that isn't enough.

Does anyone know anything about afirrora Fresh?

Hi,

I think you will enjoy the Mac OSX environment on your new iMac G5. As for the software question, I have yet to find issue with QuickBooks on the OSX platform. It's very similar to the PC environment and took me literally 2 days to switch.

I switched back to Mac after a 7 yr hiatus. My work includes a couple of small business ventures and consulting work.

I have no problem working with my CPA (a Windows shop). I suggest using the software that your CPA will support. Every software option will have it's Pros and Cons. There are bigger fish to fry.

Enjoy your new iMac. I made the switch as soon as the iMac G5 arrived in the summer. Invest in the extra memory from day one and you'll be happy for years to come.

I have been using MYOB for a few years now. I like it for the most part. But the Mac version is missing a few things.
For one, the mac version does NOT have spell check
- PC version does.
