Help in finding a better camera with good picture quality

Hey people.
I have an Olympus FE-170 camera now.
In a week I'm going on a trip and I think that I want a better camera for my trip.
So technically I that like that FE-170 is very simple to use, but the pictures quality somewhat not so good.
When I bought it cost me about 200$. Now I want something in the same price tag but with good quality.

The quality of photos in the $200 price bracket has not really gotten that much better over the years.
The advance has been mostly in more features and improved video capability.

Take a look at the new Canon Elph 100HD.
It does have image stabilization which should cut down on fuzzy shots.
It sells for $200.
